Welcome to the Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship Program: Reuniting Families in Canada
The Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship program stands as one of Canada’s most sought-after immigration pathways. As a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you can sponsor your parents or grandparents for permanent residency in Canada. Please note that this program opens only once a year, and there are limited slots available for selected applications.
The Sponsorship Process
To sponsor your parents or grandparents, start by submitting the interest to sponsor form. If selected, you’ll receive an invitation to apply from IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada). Typically, you’ll have 60 days to submit your application from the date of the invitation.
Benefits of the Program
Once your parents or grandparents become Canadian permanent residents, they’ll enjoy an array of benefits. These include the freedom to work in Canada, access to healthcare, full protection under Canadian law and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and eligibility to apply for Canadian citizenship once they meet the criteria.
Who is Eligible to Sponsor?
You can sponsor your parents or grandparents if you meet the following criteria:

- You currently reside in Canada.
- You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered under the Canadian Indian Act.
